Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Pomodoro (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use our mobile application and related marketing website. We design the App to keep core timer history on your device whenever possible. We do not sell your personal information.

2. Information we process

• Local timer data: work and break durations, sound preferences, completed session history, and timer state stored on your device (for example via local storage / Hive).
• Purchase status: whether Lifetime Premium / Remove Ads has been purchased or restored, managed through Apple App Store or Google Play billing.
• Device permissions (optional): notification permission so we can alert you when a session ends; on Android, exact-alarm / alarms & reminders permission so timer-completion alerts can fire on time; and permission to run a foreground service while a timer is active so the countdown can continue more reliably in the background.
• Ads & analytics (free version): advertising and analytics partners (such as Google Mobile Ads / Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Remote Config) may collect device and usage signals according to their own policies when ads or diagnostics are enabled.

The App does not access or share your precise physical location with other users, and does not offer chance-based or loot-box purchases.

3. How we use information

• Provide timer, statistics, and notification features
• Schedule timer-completion alerts (including exact alarms on Android when permitted)
• Keep an optional foreground / background timer helper running while a session is active
• Remember your settings and Premium entitlement
• Improve reliability, crash diagnostics, and app performance
• Show ads in the free version (unless removed via Premium)

4. Android alarms & background timing

On Android 12 and later, delivering a timer alert at the exact end of a session may require the system “Alarms & reminders” / exact-alarm capability (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM). We use this only to fire your scheduled timer-completion notification—not for advertising or tracking. If exact alarms are not permitted, the App may fall back to inexact scheduling, which can delay the alert slightly. Background and foreground-service behavior also depends on your device manufacturer’s battery optimizations.

5. Data storage & retention

Session history and settings are stored locally on your device. If you uninstall the App, local data is typically deleted by the operating system. Purchase records remain with Apple or Google and can be restored with Restore Purchases. Crash and analytics events processed by Firebase are retained according to Google’s policies and our Firebase project configuration.

6. Third-party services

The App may use third-party services including Apple App Store, Google Play, Google Mobile Ads / AdMob, and Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config). Those services process data under their own privacy policies. Lifetime Premium removes ads but does not remove necessary store billing validation or basic crash reporting needed to keep the App reliable.

7. Children’s privacy

The App is a general productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your choices

• Disable notifications in system settings
• On Android, manage Alarms & reminders / exact-alarm access in system settings
• Limit background activity in battery / Device Care settings
• Reset or clear local timer settings inside the App
• Purchase Lifetime Premium to remove ads
• Uninstall the App to remove local data from the device

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
